They look like they go to your school, and they are even wearing the school uniform. You just recently made a social media account and having more followers sounds fun! So, you decide to accept their friend request.
Not everyone is who they say they are online. Fake accounts are sometimes created by people with bad intentions.
There could be many different reasons they are friending you.
Before accepting any request you should be 100% certain they are real. It is safer to know exactly who you are talking to online.
Checking if they have mutual friends with you might be a good way to double check if they are real or fake - you can even ask a friend if they know the person!
It is a good idea to create different rules about making friends online vs. in person.
